from Joker's

Marcella's Write Up of the Finale

So it all came down to two. Dan and Memphis are the last men standing. A little over 10 weeks ago, 13 strangers walked into the Big Brother house. Some stranger than others.

What an oddly awesome cast this season; Renny, the over-the-top Darlin' from N'awlins. Jerry, at 75, the oldest House Guest in Big Brother history. Libra, the mother of five month old twins who left her husband and three kids to compete. Steven, the gay rodeo star with very little grasp of the game but whoa was he hot. Jessie, the super hot natural body builder who took arrogance to a new level and oh, was I willing to go. And let's not forget the homophobic son of a preacher man Ollie, who thinks the gays aren't getting into heaven but he can nail as much premarital tail as he can get. For me those listed were the stars this season. The ones you couldn't help but watch. The ones that caused the drama and in some cases the fun.

But at the end of the day, this was Dan and Memphis' show from start to finish. On the first night we met Memphis and saw he was a fierce competitor. Don't feel sorry that Memphis didn't win Big Brother 10. Oh... Did I not tell you? Dan won.

Memphis won a vintage car on the very first night. He also walks away with a cool $50,000 as runner-up. Very early on, Memphis played the game skillfully. With only one true enemy, the cantankerous Jerry, Memphis made situational allies from week to week without alienating anyone. The one misstep Memphis made this season was evicting Keesha. By giving Keesha, his longtime ally, the boot, he made a powerful and vocal enemy on the jury. And the thing is... he didn't have to do it.

If he'd kept Keesha in the game, I believe had she won HoH, she would have kept him and evicted Dan. Memphis could have beaten Keesha had they made Final 2 because the jury was mostly women and, historically, women do not vote for other women.

In the biggest rout in Big Brother history, Dan won seven to nothing. The entire jury voted for Dan, and they should have. Dan played a near perfect game. His only mistake was the Veto Roulette he played before nominating Michelle for eviction. He could easily have done it without the histrionics, but wow, was it fun to watch. The most interesting part of Dan's game was how readily he adapted to every situation in the Big Brother house. Even when in danger, he was never thrown off and kept his eye on the prize.

I went to the finale on Tuesday. Honestly, I dreaded it. I hate Big Brother reunions. To be brutally honest, I don't like very many of the ex-House Guests. That isn't me being mean, that's the truth. I have very little in common with most of them. That's one of the things that makes Big Brother such an interesting show. Taking strangers from very different walks of life and tossing them in a bubble and watching as they try to get along and figure co-existing out. There is really no other experience like this. It's one I share with less than 150 people. Does that shared experience make us friends? No. I guess it's like going to the same high school in different years. Or even better, being in the same fraternity or sorority.

I don't know... maybe my disdain for other House Guests has something to do with my disdain for having done Big Brother. I still, after six years and two seasons, have mixed feelings about the show. In some ways it was a blessing. In a lot of ways it's been a curse. I most often compare it to having done porn. It might have felt real good while you were doing it, but the ramifications live on and on and on.

Erika from All-Stars jokes that her last name is "From Big Brother." The would make me Marcellas "Shoulda Used the Veto." That's what it is! Six years later, my appearance on Big Brother is distilled to one thing; I didn't use the veto and save myself from eviction. Year after year after year. Season after season after season, I'm referenced by the current House Guests, the internet fans and anyone else as Marcellas "Shoulda Used the Veto." It's a little tiring.

The other thing that annoys me? Being on Big Brother was not a benchmark in my life. It was a funny little bump in the road that is my life's journey.

The thing I hate about Big Brother reunions is the competition. It's like, "what are you working on now?" "How'd you get that?" "Who's your agent?" "I'm gonna be a star!" Dude! That stuff makes me sick. Show me who you are. Have a real conversation with me. That entertainment stardom stuff is a grinfuck that messes with your head.

Being in entertainment is how I make money to live. It's not who I am. The real Marcellas wishes he was rich because he'd be a Black Howard Hughes walking around his estate in his bathrobe with tissue boxes for slippers, ordering in food and men. In that order.

Back on point because this isn't about me, I attended the finale. I opted against sitting in the audience. One thing I've learned about sitting in the audience is you are trapped. You have to smile when you don't wanna and clap on cue. Sorry, I only dance when I'm paid. I'm also not that desperate for screen time. Instead I sat in the VIP lounge with other House Guests and some of the families of the current contestants. There was free food and drink and after weeks of the Master Cleanse, I was so ready for some chicken fingers, veggie focaccia and meatballs. And an ice cold Corona to wash it all down.

Yes, I'll be back on the Master Cleanse the day after the wrap party.

On live video screens, we get to watch the finale. Back stage with me was a whole lot of Season 9, which I didn't watch so I had no idea who they were. I did see Joshuah (whom I love), Chelsia and Parker. My dearest Gretchen was there in her role as host of House Calls. I miss her, not House Calls, and love that it's a clusterfuck without me.

From Season 8 I saw Dick and bumped into Jen, who was with her boyfriend Nick, on my way in. The show progresses and in the audience there is Bunkie and Beau, two of the other gay ex-House Guests. There is also Ashlea from Season 6 (gorgeous) and James from All-Stars. I'll admit I did have a twinge and think "Hm mm... Should I have sat in the audience?" Another trip to the buffet cleared that right up.

Julie Chen looked lovely in a sleek black shift. Julie takes us to the jury and their deliberations. First is the always painful and pointless "I wonder who is the last juror" section. Just when all the HGs are bashing Jerry, bang, Jerry walks in. You know that every House Guest on Big Brother 10 is stunned and pissed that 75-year-old Jerry made it damn near to the end. And they should be. That's right up there with Cowboy making it to Final 2 on Season 5 and Chicken George outlasting Alison, Danielle, Diane, James, Jase, Nakomis and me, several of the greatest players in Big Brother history, on All-Stars. Yeah I said it.

Now the deliberations begin in earnest. Many are mad at Jerry. Many are just mad. They figure out that Dan and Memphis had a deal for Final 2. Duh. Do you think? They figure out that they've been played. It's even said that the two evil people made it to Final 2. Personally, I don't think Dan or Memphis were evil. They just outplayed everyone else. In light of some of the ugly things that April, Jerry, Michelle and Ollie said and did this summer, Dan and Memphis look like two (incredibly hot) choir boys.

What I love about this segment is the finger pointing! The "shoulda, woulda, coulda" was flying. Regrets and recriminations abound. Jerry and Renny fight! They yell at each other and Renny (in a cheap pearl choker and very pretty tank dress) is hysterical. Renny calls Jerry a "chauvinist pig" and Keesha asks, "can you feel the love in the air?" Classic. I'm gonna miss Renny. She was great TV. Jerry ends with "who's the worst of two evils and who deserves it more?" Who's evil here? It's a game. You may say they were dicks, you can say they were liars but evil seriously doesn't apply. It's a game.

Funniest line of jury; Jerry asks, "are we all that gullible?" Libra retorts, "apparently so, we're sitting here."

I felt a little sorry for Jerry's wife, who sat near me in VIP. He wasn't liked and people booed when he spoke. In VIP, when they didn't boo, they laughed at him. That's what's great about VIP. You can actually boo in VIP. On the stage you can't boo, you have to clap and smile and be nice. It's exhausting.

At the end of the deliberations, which were actually very logical, the jury does Q & A with the Final 2. The questions are whack. Memphis blows it when Renny asks, "Memphis what in this game did you do for me?" He stammers and then gives a nonsensical answer. I can't believe he got stumped by Renny. Dan at every turn tosses Memphis under the bus ever so subtly. Dan and Memphis both give great end speeches and it looks like it could be close. It's well edited because it isn't!

The jury is introduced and come out one by one. The House Guests have to bend over awkwardly to high five and hand shake audience members. They aren't savvy enough to know it looks crazy on camera. Renny, who curtsies when she comes out, takes way too long to come down the runway. She literally high fives everyone in sight. It's a little like watching that old movie What Ever Happened To Baby Jane?

I'm lost in space at this moment pondering how many people in this cast are missing teeth and how they lost them. How does that happen? And how do you get cast on a show missing teeth? I mean, even on Flavor of Love or I Love New York, the cast has all their teeth. Are there really that few people that want to do Big Brother that they cast people missing their teeth? Voting commences right away and is done with each juror giving a little speech and then voting. Again, Renny takes way too long with a rambling speech.

The votes are cast and the first four evicted House Guests are introduced. It dawns on me that the first three guys evicted are the hottest. Brian, Jessie and Steven all look good. Julie asks Brian what his opinion of the Final 2 is. It's actually scathing.

He points out that the Final 2 never attacked a single person and the game never became personal for them. That's the truth. In a season of vicious name calling, neither Dan nor Memphis resorted to those tactics.

He then points out to the jury that everyone saw how nasty they were. He talks about Ollie's behavior, which elicits a laugh from this dullard. It's an uncomfortable moment. Julie then asks him, "

Who else Brian?" Yeah, Brian is a bitch for the man.

He moves on to Michelle attacking Libra's ability to be a mother for taking the trip to Hawaii from her in the Veto competition. Michelle laughs. Another uncomfortable moment. Brian then moves on to April and Michelle in the jury house, attacking Keesha's physical appearance. Brian is spanking ass, ladies and gentlemen. Julie Chen then asks Steven what House Guest's behavior surprised him the most sitting at home watching. This whole thing is a set up because Steven then calls Jerry to task about calling Dan Judas. They roll a greatest hits package on Jerry and it's his lowest moments in the show. It's brutal y'all. Jerry stammers through an apology. Weakly.

Julie reveals that Dan was America's Player for one week. The jury all says they knew it. Jessie has the opportunity to speak to Dan and opts to speak to America. Apparently, he doesn't care that much for America and his response ends in a fart noise. Hmmm... Julie then announces that there is another prize. America will be awarding one of the jurors $25,000.

I hate this prize. During All-Stars it went to about the least deserving House Guest in Big Brother history. I could just see that fan base creating bots to auto vote on-line and converting their life savings into quarters in order to use the payphone to cast multiple votes. But I digress...

The winner is announced. It takes four votes to win and the first four are for Dan. He deserved it. It's announced that Jerry is the runner up in the jury prize (who voted for him?) and in a shocking moment the winner is Keesha. I really thought it would be Renny.

Oh, and as a side note, some really hot guy in the audience hugs Memphis excitedly. I wanna know who that is because his silhouette was slamming.

And that is it ladies and gentlemen. Another season bites the dust. It was one of my favorites. Just below Season 5, but right above Season 6.

See ya next year!

TheRealDeal's Blog about the Wrap Party...

BB10 Wrap Party! Wow! Ahhh! OMG! WTF??
Current mood:  anxious

Okay, so most of you know that Chelsia from BB9 invited me this year to the wrap party. What a doll. She's AWESOME! I don't care what people think about this girl, she's been nothing but generous and kind to me. How can you fault anyone for that? The BB house makes people do weird things, and as soon as they leave, they get a fresh start with me. The only negative thing I can about this bitch is that she ran the fuck late for the wrap party. BUT, I forgave her 1 millisecond after arriving at the CBS Studios lot. Hel,l Parker got there around 11pm, so....

So, we're walking up to the wrap party and I have no idea what to expect. NO IDEA! I see that it's an outdoor event and it was a nice, warm evening. First thing on both sides of the entrance is two of the airplanes used for the last HOH comp. "I'm so gonna get on one of those before I leave." -Chelsia.

So we all walk in together - Chelsia, Me, Josh, Sharon and her date. And the first table to our right, after the entrance, was Brian's "group" - Steven - Angie - and their friends. Which they ALL ROCK. Not the HGs, but their friends. Angie's friend AHHHHH her name escapes me and Brian's friend. They are both very cool people. Thanks, guys! So I said hi to them - Chelsia motored ahead of me and she was gone. Which is cool, but I was going to play up the "Trail Chelsia Like A Puppydog Routine"! haha!

So I'm about crapping my pants right about now, everyone is looking at everyone as they walked by. Who's here? Who is he with? Which show is he from? Do I know you? As I'm making my way through the crowd, I hear "Phil! PHIL!" There are spotlights everywhere so it was touch seeing everyone's faces at first. And guess who was excitedly shouting out my name? Nick Starcevic! This guy is so damn cool, you have no idea. I'm glad I got to know him through the past year - he really is a great guy.

And of course, not standing too far, was the ever so glowing Jen Johnson. We hugged it out for 10 seconds or more! Nick didn't mind. So as I'm saying my hellos to them, I see Memphis OMG! I see Dan! OMG! So I just walked up and introduced myself and said hello to them. And there to my right were Monica and Kelly. Kelly and I had corresponded through e-mails before the party, so she knew I would be there. I hate saying it, but I had to introduce myself as "TheRealDeal". Well, let me just tell you, her eyes lit up like a Christmas tree! hahaha! She is so sweet. Kelly rocks! Monica is so nice. Two great girls. Dan's lucky to have such beautiful women surrounding him.

So I'm working my way "around the room", and I always make sure that I bump into Nick and Jen - they're just too much fun. There was a cookie cart to my right, and Churro cart to my left. The buffet line was long. We Chelsia and I got in it. The BB10 cast was located right there along the line, so I got to see Keesha, Libra, April, Ollie on the way to the food. I met Tonya (who is a BB fan and who has contacted me via myspace) Very nice lady. One of Sheila's fans that I met this year, I finally met in person. Very cool guy. Rich is his name. I think we're hooking up for photos soon.

So as we're walking back to our table with our food, we run into the one and only Daniele Donato. Me: "You suck." Her: "No, you suck, obviously." Gave her a hug and off we go to chow. There as I'm eating... Joe Barber BB8 is sitting next to me. "OH! So you're the mysterious TheRealDeal!" Haha. "So let me get this straight, if you're not breathtaking beautiful, you don't take their pictures??" OMG! I had to explain to him it's his own fault for being voted out so soon. Ha! He's dying for a photo shoot! We'll see!

So I see Evel Dick come in and he's with Daniele, so I quckly jumped up for a photo. They obliged. I saw that Jerry was kinda standing alone with his daughter to the side and I had to go and say hello. We talked a bit about the show, how he felt and then he introduced me to his wife. Awww, Jerry! I went back to Evel and told him he need to go give some love to Jerry. "Fuck that." he said. I told him I loved his interview with April and Ollie. He wasn't sure how much they aired and was shocked to learn the "Cum on me" question was left in. He was pleased.

Okay, I'll give Dan this - he loves Monica. He NEVER left her side. He pretty much ended up at one spot all night. Which probably sucked for him, but that did not allow me to get any pics with him and let's say Renny or Keesha, because they, too, never left their area, and they were kinda far from one another. I didn't get to talk to Keesha much, but I can tell she was overwhelmed. She pretty much stayed seated at her table most of the night. Along with Renny when she wasn't cutting a rug. Renny is SO AWESOME. I was always winking at her as she was talking to certain peeps, and when I first approached her with Chelsia, she says to Chelsia, "Who's this guy?" haha.

So I go get in line for a drink (h20) TheRealDeal doesn't drink. And out of the bathroom comes Angie. He eyes light up and she gives me a hug and says she LOVES the pictures and was going on and on about them. Yay! She is most awesomeest of the awesomeness!

I can always count on Nick for being there for me. He was there for me. A supporter. A friend. And we even shared a dance move or two. Imagine two goofballs doing the robot! My God.

I didn't get to talk to Dan too much, only congrats and such. He seemed really overwhelmed by everything.

And then there I see Gretchen from Housecalls, so I introduced myself and she was sweet. Just a quick hello and goodbye.

And then I see Marcellous (I think that's how you spell his friggin' name), so I approached him because he denied me as a "friend" on myspace 3 times, and I *thought* it was because he knew my mean videos from the past, but nope, he told me that he went through a phase and denied a lot of people because he wasn't sure if he wanted BB fans on his site, etc. And then I said, "Yeah, but you sought me out recently and requested me." He was, "I did??" Yep. You must know my photography. He laughed. He was very nice and open to conversation. I'm sad to read what he said about my Janelle, though. That she wasn't deserving of favorite juror during All Stars. Shame on you!

Memphis was way cool and kick back. I approached him a couple of times when he was being photographed with Sheila and I whispered in his ear, "She wanted Dan to win." Haha! And vice versa when she was taking pics with Dan. She was saying, "No Phil! No! Not true!" hahaa! Sheila cracks me up. Memphis was pretty much solo the whole night, as far as I saw. Ashley & Monica and a splash of Kelly pretty much hung out all night.

The gag reel was hilarious. At first I really didn't want to record it, but I just couldn't help myself. I love this shit. Most of it pretty funny. I loved how they stole my Renny as the Joker bit. I'm flattered. OR, just Great Minds Think Alike. I'll take both. Jerry puking was the highlight of the reel for me. The whole crowd "UUUGGGH!!!EEEWWW!"

I met up with Daniele a lot during the evening - just talking about life. I'm sure she felt a little weird with Nick and Jen there, but that would be very natural if she did. I couldn't help but call on her for photo ops with certain people. I mean, look at her. BEAUTIFUL! She was having a good time. I'm glad she came to me on a few accounts to talk. Many hugs were exchanged that night. So much so, she uh.. re-agreed FINALLY to our long awaited third photo shoot. And it will be special. KNOW THAT!

And of course on the other end of the spectrum, I'm sure it was weird for Nick and Jen. Me? I would make light of the situation and ask if it was cool if we can get a group shot of all of them. And I was kidding!! Jen was cool. She's over it. And I can't help it that Nick is so enamored with me. I can't shake him. Constantly calling me.

All kidding aside, I'm glad Daniele showed up for the wrap party. She really is fun to hang out with. I love her wit.

One little fun tidbit about Nick that night. Jen wanted a picture with the Big Brother 10 logo on the big screen and there was a guy filming a spot for some show. And he totally told Jen to get out of his shot (kinda) and Nick is so funny "Dude, let her take her picture and get the fuck out of the way." (well, he didn't really say that, but it sounds good to me) Nick: "Dude, she's on the show! She can take her picture where ever she wants!" I LOVED IT! So much, that I walked away! haha! Nick's too cool for school.

Okay, so who (NON BB) was at this party that I recognized but didn't approach? Well, I was introduced to one of them and he starred in one of my favorite sitcoms EVER in the history of television.. "Freaks & Geeks" Samm Levine. Very nice guy. I gushed all over him. I loved that show.

I also saw Ross The Intern from the Leno show. Shannon Elizabeth of course. Chi Chi or Chu Chu Laroo? I forget his/her name. He/She was cool We talked myspace for a bit. Ross was on the go for most of the night and I only really saw him once, so no pictures.

All the BB10 peeps pretty much stayed to themselves and whoever was around them. April and Ollie moved around. Michelle moved around. Jessie moved around.

Speaking of Michelle... she was one of my favs from the show. I kept bugging her all night. Chelsia introduced me to her initially and all I kept telling her was that I loved her competitiveness. As I passed by her during the evening, I would say, "You're GREAT!" She laughed. We walked arm and arm for 12 seconds. That was cool. Brian hates that I like her. Oh well. haha. She posed for me on the diary room chair. She's fun.

Brian was up and down every which way last night, so I couldn't keep up with him and photos too much. Angie the same - up and down here and there. She got busy on the dance floor too. Mugging for my little Sony camera. She's too funny.

Jessie is cool. His girlfriend is HOT! We talked about her and Chelsia's link together. He says he was so young when he talked to her, he really can't remember much about it.

I met Libra. Very nice. Tall. Beautiful. Her hubby... big guy. Watch out! I said to her, "How about you and Jerry for a picture?" (kidding) She ran real quick! haha. "Hell no." is what I think I heard, but not sure. ggrin

I don't get all the hate for April - She was SO nice to me. We talked for a bit. Told her I might be going to Arizona in December, so she wants to hang out - perhaps accidentally snapping a few photos. We'll see. Ollie's cool. He was chill. As Daniele was talking to him, I would come up and say something to distract them - Daniele would laugh and Ollie said, "And who is this guy?" She said, "TheFakeDeal" without missing a beat. Daniele rocks.

Matty & BALLER! They never left each other's side! I asked Adam in front of Matt at one time "Hey! where's your girlfriend? Oh here he is." Matt just laughed and kinda walked away. Too funny. Matt was cool We talked photos. I'll give the guy one thing, he has a great face. He does. I'm sorry. Short guy. Adam was adam. I said hello to his bro.

Lisa! Lisa! BB3! OMG! How awesome was that! I got to meet her real quick. I loved her on her season, and was so happy she won over.... uh.. yeah.

I met Erika - she be chilin' talking about her casting job she still has. I had forgotten until she reminded me.

James Rhine. It really is nice to actually know these guys and I can just go up and B.S. or whatever. I would bug him all night. And he would bug me. "Hey, can you take a picture for me! You are a photographer right?" I was his bitch for a little bit there. James has always been cool to me. This night was no different. I was bugging him and Daniele, trying to put their hands together. Secretly, they LOVED IT!

I saw Mike BB8, said hello to him, but not much else. I mean, come on... Nevermind. He drives a nice car, that's for sure. And he was very helpful with getting Daniele safely to her car. She might have had a beer or two.

I would bump into Chelsia every now and again just to bug her. She was cool. We gossip'd. Oh, yeah. And when Crazy James and her were talking, I JOKINGLY tried to put their faces together for a kiss. I'm an idiot like that. They laughed. They're still friends. It's nice. James cast is off his arm. He says it still hurts. Tender. Saw his new tat. Didn't talk much. I saw him talking to the one and only Jokerette from Jokers later on in the evening, and I knew she didn't know who I was, but I knew who she was. Oh, yeah.

I approached her and she looked at me not knowing who I was. I waited until her conversation was over and introduced myself. "Hi, I'm TheRealDeal." She truly reacted in a sincere way and reached out to me for a hug. I gave her one. I like Jokerette. She's been nothing but nice to me. I gave her the manditory "Thanks for banning me" look and she quickly came back, "It wasn't me! I was out of town!" I told her I know. I understand. She was with someone else from the site and I'm sorry I didn't recognize your screen name!! Thank you for the nice words.

So as I'm making my way through the crowd at the end of the night, I hear Evel Dick scream my name! He wanted a picture OF COURSE, of three BB winners. "Here's a lot of money." (ED, Lisa & Dan) My pleasure.

Now, before I end this ridiculously long-ass blog, two very special things happened to me at the end of my night.

One - I friggin got down on the dance floor with Angie (mind you for 23 seconds), but she was all dirty dancing on me! haha! My head was spinning at this point. SPINNING!
Thank you Angie for being you. You're so damn wonderful. Stunning, to boot.

Two - Daniele Donato was actually in my car at the end of the night. Well, not like that. I wanted to make sure she left her car in a safe place before she head out with Chelsia to The Abbey. That's where a lot of these BB folks ended up. Me? Not my style. So we drove briefly from one street to another. Dropped her car off. Drove her back to Chelsia. One last hug. "Thanks for everything." she says.

And that was that. What a night.

TheFakeDeal

P.S. I didn't see much of Steven the whole night. I talked to him briefly about the photo shoot, but didn't really see him at all. Hi Steven! ggrin

OMG I loved Dick's interviews.  I hope the other interviews pop up sometime.  He was so awesome at calling it like it is to her, not that that is shocking, but SHE needed to be put in her place.

I also was really enjoying Bunky putting Ollie on the spot.  I could not believe he had it in him, but damn.... he rocked it!

log into superpass
go to my account
click cancel or edit membership
cancel
They will send an email confirmation.

edited because I just canceled mine and it's a much easier process now.  grin

I just tried this twice and got a message that I need to call 866-212-1343 to cancel.  Anyone know why I couldn't cancel online?  dunno

So I just called 866-212-1343 to cancel my Superpass membership.  I waited on hold for 11 minutes.  Like someone said, they tried to talk me into all kinds of specials and I declined.  At one point he offered a free month and that if I wanted to cancel after that, all I had to was call them.  I said "I'm calling to cancel now, I don't want to call a 2nd time".  He put me on hold, and at first I thought he might drop my call, but he came right back and said my membership would end on Nov 25th and that I could go in between now and then to play games and get my $10 of music.  I told him I was going to get it again next year for the BB show and he was happy about that.
