1) How do I get Firefox to "unremember" a user name and PW?

2) When I download a picture from email, a separate download window appears.  How do I take the picture/file and put it where I want it? I know how to create folders and move things around in the Explorer, just don't know how to get my picture/file to point there.

To clear passwords go to TOOLS>>Options>>select "security" at the top

Then in the passwords area click "saved passwords".  Then look through the list & highlight the one(s) you want gone & click REMOVE
(^^ I have never needed to clear a password so let me know if this works)

To change the folder firefox downloads things to go to TOOLS>>Options>>select "main" at the top

then look down in the "downloads" area & click the BROWSE button beside "save files to" & pick the new place you want them to go ggrin

If I right click on a smilie and say "save as", where do I then paste it to use it?  I tried to paste it in the Explorer, but didn't have the option to paste there.  I like the smilie giving a raspberry that someone just used tonight.  nod yes

if you right click and select "save as" you are saving it to your computer & not copying it so it cannot be pasted.  In order to save smileys for use on a message board you save them to you hard drive then upload them to photobucket (or where ever you host your online images).  To post an image on the message board it has to be hosted online elsewhere.  So you simply get the image address from photobucket (or where ever) & then insert it here like you would any other picture.

Does that make sense  dunno

Another option is to right click & select "copy image location" then you can insert that image into a post by clicking the image insert button & pasting the copied address into that pop-up window ... but ... you will have to locate the original smiley each time you want to use it so it's easier to just start a photobucket account & save them all there in one place for future use ggrin

Oooooo!  All this Firefox talk makes me wiggly!   happy dance

I gotta tell you tho... I switched back to Firefox 2  I know FF3 is smokin' fast and great and all but I had to surrender.  Why?

1) wouldn't save my bookmarks in the bookmarks menu
2) wouldn't save bookmarks in the bookmark toolbar (that's the way I like em usually)
3) hosed up my Gmail Manager and wouldn't remember my passwords there or just flat out refused to cooperate.
4) I constantly get bonked out of Gmail. Dunno who to point the finger at: FF, Gmail, or operator error..

I tried like mad to follow all of the online solutions but just went back to FF2 and so far, things are smooth, the way I like.

They are going to stop supporting FF2 in December so I'll have to upgrade then or shortly therafter...

Does anyone know how the list is sorted in the address bar drop down? Is it by most visited sites or something like that?

Plus everything is easier to do.  FF cuts out 2 steps on copying an image location to use it in a post...
