Welcome to our user wine review thread.  We are wine novices around here so we don't expect anyone to post a fancy schmancy, snobby wine review.  In order for a wine to be added to the master review list please post what you liked or didn't like about a wine you tried along with a few basic details.  Posting a review of "it was yummy" or "it sucked" with no basic details is fine but it will not merit getting the wine added to the master list.

I will keep a running alphabetized listing of all the wines our users review in post #2 of this thread.  Each wine name &/or year will link to the users review when you click on it.  Click HERE for some helpful hints of things you can include when writing a novice wine review.

When giving the price you paid please list the setting (if you were paying a restaurant price or a wine/grocery store price).  The rating would range from 1 star to 5 stars (1 being the worst).  To add the correct star image (from 1/2 to 5 star) to your post beside "rating:" enter the follow sans any spaces (.5 sta; 1 sta; 1.5 sta; 2 sta; 2.5 sta; 3 sta; 3.5 sta; 4 sta; 4.5 sta; 5 sta) << be sure to leave the spaces out of the code or the star image will not show up

The review should include a novice impression of the aroma, first taste to finish (click here for help).

Please copy & paste the following list at the very beginning of your review.

vineyard:
type of grape:
vintage (year):
appellation (or region):

vineyard:  Bogle
type of grape: Chardonnay
vintage (year):  2006
appellation (or region):  California
price/setting: $10.19/grocery store
rating:  4.five
review:  The Bogle had a mild fruity smell.  At first sip it had a slight woody bite which was immediately followed by a pleasant, fruity smoothness.  It wasn't overly sweet, just nice smooth, with a hint of fruity.  The second sip was even smoother than the first.  Overall this is one of the best Chardonnays I have had in a long time rivaling my personal favorite Clos Du Bois.

vineyard:  Kendall-Jackson
type of grape: Chardonnay
vintage (year):  2005
appellation (or region):  California
price/setting:  $20 - $25 at a liquor store
rating: four
review: This was the Kendall-Jackson Grande Reserve and had a very pleasant flavor.  There was a bit of an orange or citrus flavor that lingered.  I would definitely buy this again.

I did try the Bogle 2006 over the weekend.  It was very nice.  I liked it better than the Firestone.  I have purchased the Clos du Bois but I haven't tried it yet!  I'll let you know later on that one!

vineyard: St. Supery
type of grape: Sauvignon Blanc
vintage (year): 2007
appellation (or region): Napa Valley, California
price/setting:  $18/liquor store
rating: 4.five
review:  Enjoyable and refreshing.  It has an herbal edginess with a citrus after taste - but not as citrus tasting as the Chardonnay.  We had this with Asian food and it was a nice compliment.  Several people in our group also felt it would be nice to try with "Bobby Flay" type cuisine!
