I have never watched Lost.....there was something else on that I liked when it first came on. Then it got very popular and I thought about watching it. I thought it might be too hard to catch up on...so I think I've missed a very good show.   My hope now is one of these days it'll go on USA or TBS and I'll start it from the beginning.

baby I have never lost satellite signal for over 5 minutes yet I have 2X this week 

I am gonna chat with Dish Network tech support because I swear it has something to do with the HDTV channels only because if I am at home the regular def channel will be fine durinf a massive rain but unfortunately I was still at work so it was DVRing all HDTV.  Still I would never give up satellite to go back to cable, tried it a year ago & only lasted 3 days because the cable picture & surround sound was so below par compared to satellite  ;b

DB, the HD channels do utilize a seperate satellite signal, but.... We have had issues before with ABC HD.  A handful of times we have gone to watch a show and for the first five minutes, you can't hear the voices.  You can hear any background noise, or theme music, but no voices.  My husband called Dish and talked to them about it  They explained to us that when a channel switches from a standard definition program to an HD program, it is actually done manually by the local providers.  In other words, it is actually someone's job to switch their output from standard to HD.  He explained that that's why the problems don't last the entire show.   It's almost as if it just dawns on someone that they didn't switch the signal. 

The thing is, it's only happened to us with ABC, never any of the other networks.     I don't know if this relates at all to what happened to yours during Lost, but I thought I would share what we were told.

TCS you ought to rent the DVDs for the 3 seasons of Lost & catch up that way.  I bet they would have them at your local DVD rental store

TCS you ought to rent the DVDs for the 3 seasons of Lost & catch up that way.  I bet they would have them at your local DVD rental store 

DB, you should call them out there then.  I know that the HD comes in through a different signal from your satellite, so I know they can find you a better signal.  Other than the ABC thing, we haven't had any HD issues.  You shouldn't have to deal with those issues either.  I'm sure it's just a matter of repositioning that HD portion.

OK I thought this season was gonna be different...  but after last night I'm not so sure.  I am gonna be pissed if all Lost does this season is create more questions (& new characters) & never go back to answer any of the old ones   I mean I like the mystery of it but to just add new questions & add new questions, ultimately adding 10 new questions while only answering 1 or 2 doesn't do much to hold my attention & actually gets quite tiresome

ITA DB, I am getting frusterated, and am sick of them introducing new characters.. I want answers dealing with the ones we have already grown to love!!

Ok I am not going to spoiler anything since the show was on last night.. but what do you all think about them finding the wreckage?? Do you think their job is to kill off all the survivors? grrr, I want some answers!! I want to know what secret/magic powers the island has, or at least some of them!! Too Many Questions!!

I dunno seeing the plane under water & in tact like that makes me think they all did die & they are in some kind of afterworld.  Hell I dunno.  I secretly have this fear that the writers are just fucking with us & they will end the show in 2 or so years have answered absolutely nothing...

You know I worry about that too Db, I will be so pissed if we all put so much into getting into this show and then get left hanging, I will not be happy! 

I remember last year when she first said they found the plane you all died, that a lot of people came out saying ok its obvious they are all dead and in an afterlife, but then the writers, came out with an interview and promised the fans that they are not dead.. I remember reading all about it at Mortys, maybe next time I am there I will see if I can find the interview... they better not be dead... especially with the flash forwards we are seeing

My rating system is based on how much I think about and reflect on a show/movie the next day.  I've not thought about last night's episode even once today.  I don't think I even can remember what it was about.  The premiere last week was excellent, strong.  My problem with last night is, I'm tired of people getting killed, getting almost killed, getting killed and sneaking away, getting threatened to be killed, etc etc.

That's a new thing w/ Lost.  I don't like it so much.

Also, they've had 2 episodes with the entire cast of the show. They almost all just huddle in the background and look scared.

I know mimi.  They introduced 4 new characters last night... WTF    I mean could they have the decency to give us a clue about some of the 30 or so characters that they started the show with    Sawyer isn't even getting good storylines any more & I thought he was a core character.  I thought the writers got a clue that the fans were getting fed up & vowed to tie up some loose ends.  F'in liars

I agree with you guys about the new characters, I am so not interested in learning about new people! I want them to focus on the core group, they are the ones that got us into it in the first place, if they keep going off in all different directions I feel they may lose alot of viewers!

I think they already lost many viewers & the writers put a 2 year timeline out for the show to end & they vowed to tie up some loose ends but it doesn't look like they are keeping their word

I have to say the show is a letdown for all the reasons mentioned above. I am just tired of guessing.

OK, I'm not defnding the writers here, but we know that at least 6 of them get off the island and they simply were explaining WHO was going to rescue our losties.  I also think that one of the people on the ship is the HE that Kate spoke about in the finale last year.  I don't think that Sawyer will leave the island.  That makes me VERY sad!    He is my favorite!

Maybe you guys were aware of this, I wasn't, but the first hour is "enhanced" much like the finale was and will hopefully clue us in a little bit. 

We are supposed to find out 1 more of the Oceanic 6 this week, so maybe this one will be better.  I sure hope so.

It's just killing me that these shows are all overlapping each other.  I would've liked to have watched the 8pm repeat last night with the subtitles but it's across from Survivor.  (My dvdr broke. Can't get myself to buy a new one, yet).  Then on Tuesdays Idol is on when BB9 is on.  Grrrr......

Can you "buy" a DVR? I get mine from my cable company and have to pay monthly rental. I would love to buy one and not pay that money every month.
